Every scene is a finely crafted art piece. The cinematography, music, and camera angles are very elegant. You can feel that this is a Mamoru Oshii film in every scene. He really honed his skills, and distilled his style on this one.
I really enjoyed that they had a more realistic plot than the first movie. The cartoony/episodic anime elements from the tv series' and first film are missing. But it still feels like Patlabor.
Even though I've seen this film probably 100 times, I still get goose bumps during the buildup at the end. I like how they were able to film around that huge tunnel battle, and kept the fighting to a minimum, without making you feel like you missed a cool shootout."
